About the job

Your key objectives for the first half of the year

• As part of the team develop and scale our DIY Taxes and/or Banking product across multiple European countries, ensuring that it will be the leading solution in our core markets in Europe.
• Design solutions that can seamlessly integrate with both our internal products and external partners, enhancing our service offering and user experience.
• Champion the use of best practices for building scalable distributed systems within the team and across the organization, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

To succeed in this role you have

• Technical Expertise: You bring extensive experience with event-driven architecture, distributed systems, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), microservices, and hexagonal architecture. This technical foundation is crucial for building solutions that are easy to maintain and integrate.
• Programming Proficiency: You possess strong knowledge of Typescript, React, Node.js, and React-Native. This versatility enables you to handle a broad spectrum of development tasks.
• Full Stack Capability: You are open to working full stack. Having experience with front-end and mobile development is a significant advantage, enabling you to build products end-to-end.
• Communication Skills: You have strong communication skills, particularly when it comes to communicating technical decisions and strategies using technical diagrams. This ensures clear and effective collaboration within our diverse team.
• Passion & Quick Learning Capabilities: We understand that you might not have experience with all the things mentioned above. What's most important to us is your ability to learn quickly and your passion for what you do. We value your enthusiasm, proactivity, and adaptability as much as your technical skills.
• Architectural Innovation and Evolution Expertise: This role requires deep experience in system architecture with a knack for innovating and evolving complex systems. Your role involves leading our architecture's strategic development, ensuring it's resilient, scalable, and capable of adapting to new challenges and technologies.

It's great to have

• In-depth Understanding of Our Tech Stack: While strong Typescript, Node.js, and React knowledge is essential, familiarity with our broader tech stack including PostgreSQL, Sequelize, GraphQL, Apollo, and Docker will be highly regarded. We encourage ongoing learning and offer opportunities to deepen your expertise in these areas.
• DevOps Skills: You demonstrate strong skills in DevOps, including CI/CD and observability. This expertise is key to ensuring smooth operations.
• AI Tools Experience: You have a passion for and experience with modern AI tools for software engineering productivity and ideally for product development. This is crucial as it helps us to solve complex challenges our customers are facing.
• Adaptability to Agile Environments: Whether you're a Scrum master or have dabbled in Kanban, we value the ability to adapt and thrive in our Agile development environment. We're looking for individuals who can contribute to our continuous improvement processes and embrace change.
• Automated Testing Experience: You bring strong experience with automated testing at all levels: unit, integration, component, end-to-end testing, etc. This ensures the reliability and quality of our software.
