Working Student – Audio Signal Processing (m/f/d)

About the role

The AI team at Agile Robots is looking for a highly motivated Working Student to develop, test and integrate audio signal processing capabilities for our robotic systems. As a team member you will help us evaluate and test different hardware options, drivers and DSP strategies, and create Proof-of-Concept solutions in collaboration with our audio, conversation agent, and industrial design teams. The role also offers ample opportunities to sharpen your profile by being involved in the development of real-world applications and by working on multiple domains. Please note that you must be enrolled in a study program to be considered for this role.

Your Responsibilities

Evaluate and test audio hardware (such as microphones, speakers) for suitability in our use-cases
Install, configure, and tune hardware & software setup for full duplex audio playback and recording
Support our conversational agent development team
Test audio/speech applications and ensure robust functionality

Essential Skills

Required Bachelor or Master student in Computer Science, Robotics or similar field
Good programming skills in C++ and Python
Basic knowledge of signal processing, such as digital filters
Hands-on experience with audio hardware and software (microphone arrays, microphone pickup patterns, loudspeakers, audio drivers, etc.)
Capable of working with Linux-based systems

Beneficial Skills

Previous experience with ROS or ROS2
Hands-on experience with DSP algorithms such as echo cancellation or beamforming
Knowledge in working with cameras and image processing
Good understanding of Robot Learning
Hands-on experience with collaborative development tools like Jira, Confluence, and Git
