    Tasks

    🤓 Your Role & Responsibilities

    Your mission: Working closely with our Head of Operations, you ensure that all our customers – despite their specific regulatory and technical challenges – are compliant and have a smooth and low-risk certification journey with Atmen. You become a trusted advisor to our customers, and leverage your domain expertise to create value for Atmen customers.

    As an Auditor/Subject Matter Expert Green Compliance within Atmen’s Operations Team, you will work directly with our customers. Your role has two sides. On the one hand, you will leverage your expertise in green compliance to guide our platform users hands-on through a smooth and successful certification journey. For this, you need to be fast-thinking, spontaneous and possess both domain & technical knowledge – each project brings new challenges. For customers with specific regulatory or technical requirements, you will interface Atmen’s product & tech teams and bring your domain knowledge to determine the ideal platform configuration.

    On the other hand, we are looking for someone who is versatile, curious, and eager to dive into all aspects of operations in a RegTech startup. You step beyond pure regulation advisory and work across regulation, product, and tech, with a user-centric mindset targeting maximum value enablement – and ultimately shaping how we bring our solutions to market.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Guide customers through the certification process for fuels regulated under EU's Renewable Energy Directives, ensuring compliance with schemes and standards. Act as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them de-risk their certification journey.
    • Conduct compliance assessments and pre-certification checks to support customers in meeting regulatory requirements.
    • Interpret and apply evolving green compliance standards to real-world e-fuel projects.
    • Provide hands-on support to platform users, troubleshooting compliance challenges.
    • Translate customers interactions into actionable insights for product & tech teams.
    • Develop playbooks and best practices to streamline recurring compliance challenges and improve consistency in certification support.
    • As an experienced auditor, contribute to Atmen’s product roadmap.
    • De-risk new business models and adjacent market opportunities.

    Requirements

    🏆 Must-haves

    • 2+ years of professional experience in a role related to sustainability regulation, compliance, audit, certification or quality management
    • Familiarity with international sustainability standards and regulations – specifically RED II & III, ideally EU RFNBO
    • Experience with sustainability/environmental auditing – especially in the fields of traceability, mass balance and/or greenhouse gas emissions
    • Competence in carbon footprint calculation and verification, either through education at university, specific professional training, or professional experience
    • Understanding of global supply chains and complex organisational set-ups
    • Highest levels of reliability and professionalism. Ability to own communication channels with clients & partners.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
    • Outstanding communication skills in English (both written and spoken), with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively & in an understandable way with stakeholders of various backgrounds.
    • Self-motivated and able to navigate a fast-changing startup environment.
    • University Degree in a relevant field, such as renewable energies, environmental engineering, process technology, energy-, environmental- or quality-management, or similar.

    • Ideal: Experience working as a trained/accredited auditor with a sustainability scheme, such as ISCC, REDcert, or similar
    • Experience in fuel life-cycle assessment, supply chains on renewable fuels, biofuels, …
    • Willingness, availability and flexibility to travel occasionally
    • Experience in software development or data science
    • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
    • Taste for digital technologies and automation.
