Director of Data Science (f/m/x)

We are seeking a technically skilled Director of Data Science to join our dynamic Data Science department at AUTO1 Group Technology. As part of our disruptive approach in the used car market, our team leverages cutting-edge technology to gather and analyze data, optimizing our platforms and processes.

Ensure our Machine Learning models deliver impact for the business
Work together with Data Science Team Leads and oversee the development of various ML topics to ensure people and resources are allocated to the most impactful projects and these projects are on track
Motivate team members to develop their maximum potential: attract, develop and retain the best talent
Identify business opportunities and successfully collaborate with stakeholders and partners in tech
Advocate best practices with respect to processes, coding standards, and technologies adopted within the data science department and provide technical expertise in deriving fit-for-purpose solutions.
You give technical advice to team members with respect to modeling questions and MLOps design choices and provide rigorous reviews on critical pull requests
You have experience in managing teams/departments
Proven track record of generating substantial business impact via successfully pushing ML models into production
Having a profound knowledge with respect to predictive Machine Learning models, software engineering practices, and Machine Learning Operations.
You have experience with or can quickly adapt to the Tech stack used in the team that contains e.g., Python, AWS services (Step Functions, Glue, Sagemaker & Sagemaker Python SDK, Redshift, etc.), Jenkins, Terraform, FastAPI and SQL
You have a good business understanding and are able to draw the right conclusions from the results of A/B test experiments and consult stakeholders accordingly
