While in general public sentiment towards the energy transition is positive, concrete local energy infrastructure projects are often met with low public acceptance, expressed through protests, lawsuits and other forms of resistance. The resulting project delays, cost overruns, and even cancellations are not only a business risk, but also endanger a timely and successful energy transition. Despite being one of the top three obstacles to expanding energy grids and wind energy, the locally specific causes of low acceptance remain poorly understood, leaving project developers to navigate blindly. AVALY addresses this challenge with a Machine Learning-based software solution, backed by scientific findings from environmental psychology. By analyzing local needs and challenges underlying low acceptance, we provide companies with actionable insights and targeted measures to boost public acceptance of energy infrastructure projects.
