Software Engineer / 3D Printing (m/f/d)

Location in Berlin, Germany or Graz, Austria office

As a software engineer at BigRep you will be part of the diverse and highly motivated slicer development team. Slicing software is the essential link between the ideas of our customers and the building of the real parts on our machines. Help us to develop new (geometric) algorithms, unleash the power of our hardware and set new standards in speed, quality, and features. 

Responsibilities include:  

• Analyze 3D printing requirements and translate them into software features
• Integrate print-process related data, like materials profiles, into our software solutions
• Design / implement / test software features in the area of our pre-print optimization tools
• Work with software packaging and CI/CD tools
• Work with a team of experts, such as data scientists, material scientists and testers to find the best solution for complex problem

• Minimum Masters Degree in computer science / math / engineering / physics or similar discipline
• Experience in 3D printing processes and tools
• Experience in rapid idea/algorithm prototyping, review, and iteration in products
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the languages C++ (17 or newer) and Python
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally  

• Experience in computational geometry, algorithm-heavy fields
• Experience with the PyQt framework
• Experience with CAD, CAM development and tools
• Experience in delivering products in real-world small-team agile scenario
• German language skills
