    About the role: 

    As part of the Compliance function at Billie, you will be one of our key players when it comes to fostering Billie's compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements with regards to Billie's data protection program as well as its overall compliance program. A strong focus of the role will be to take Billie's data protection policies and processes to the next level and support Billie's Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering Function to fulfill the team's roadmaps. In doing so you will perform reviews, optimize our internal processes, fulfill reporting and notification obligations, coordinate audits and third-party due diligence, advise and train Billie's employees. 

    In more details, you will:

    • Be the first point of contact on the topic of data protection and are responsible for implementing and continuously improving our data protection program. 
    • Identify, mitigate and control compliance risks incl. data protection risks within the company. 
    • Be responsible for managing the involvement of and relationship with our external Data Protection Officer and know when to involve him. 
    • Conduct assessments of frameworks, and processes, taking into account industry best practices as well as participate in the design and implementation of controls and frameworks related to Billie's data protection and compliance programs.
    • Support Billie's MLRO function in their continuous anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing efforts incl. fulfillment of their control plan and know your employee program.
    • Play a pivotal role in ensuring Billie's compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting and notification obligations as a regulated KWG and ZAG institute. 
    • Support in the preparation for and during the execution of internal and external audits and work hand in hand with governance stakeholder representatives to ensure controls are fit for purpose, agreed and ratified.
    • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of Billie's products, services, policies, procedures, philosophy, and organizational structure. 
    • Preparation and performance of internal trainings, presentations and workshops.

    Who we are looking for: 

    • You have sound knowledge and enthusiasm for data protection, the GDPR and compliance topics and have experience in conducting gap assessments and risk assessments.
    • You have ideally gained experience in Financial Services, Banking, policy management, Risk or Fintech.
    • You are an excellent communicator and can adapt your communication style to different audiences incl. authorities, auditors, management and employees.
    • You have a service mindset and strong affinity for efficient and effective processes and a keen eye for continuous process improvements. 
    • You have an eye for detail and the ability to work reliably in a fast-paced environment 
    • You are self-driven and have a flexible mindset which allows you to work both  independently and in multicultural teams.
    • You are fluent in both German and English.
    • Ideally, you have a legal background or comparable experience or qualification and a master's degree in compliance / data protection / regulation or a comparable field.
