  • .img – itai’s machine GmbH is the digital unit of the „Berliner Verlag“ publishing group. With our „journalistic operating system“ (.jOS) we provide a cloud-native publishing platform that serves millions of users by connecting to headless CMSs, processing and enriching content, and distributing it via web and apps. This helps regional newspapers to meet the challenges of the digital age: it facilitates reach, engagement, and monetization of journalistic content and integrates it with analytics and AI services (e.g., tagging, voice synthesis, content generation). In addition to the publications of „Berliner Verlag“, we work with other national and regional media companies.

    Tasks

    Take responsibility for the growth the .jOS SaaS platform. As a DevOps engineer you can contribute to the following areas:

    • Work with infrastructure as code and wider GitOps culture
    • Working with cloud infrastructure for distributed systems to provide scalable solutions for millions of records and users
    • Setup and maintain CI/CD pipelines
    • Setup and maintain monitoring and alerting

    Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on automation and automation systems
    • In depth understanding of cloud based, distributed systems and ability to work with a complex custom codebase
    • Experience with Terraform and AWS. Knowledge of Cloudflare and Gitlab is a plus
    • Collaborative approach to shared development with an ability to vocalize feedback and contributions to guide colleagues
    • Good knowledge of English; working understanding of German is a plus
