Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Web3 Lead Software Engineer - Backend - candidates need to be based in US/Europe.
As the Team Lead of our Infrastructure team, you will lead a central pillar of our engineering organization. Your mission is to enable product teams with resilient, scalable infrastructure, delivering APIs, data pipelines, and backend systems that meet the needs of one of the fastest-growing DeFi protocols.
You will work closely with our Head of Engineering to align infrastructure goals with business objectives while mentoring and scaling a high-performing team.
💼 Your Responsibilities
Leadership

1 Month
- Understand the team’s strengths, weaknesses, and processes.
- Familiarize yourself with the state of the infrastructure.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and align on long-term objectives.

- Establish a reliable cadence of production releases (e.g., daily release capability).
- Improve observability and manage technical debt.
- Delegate effectively, fostering ownership within the team.

- Scale infrastructure to meet increasing product demands.
- Ensure availability, accuracy, and performance set industry benchmarks.
- Achieve clear, measurable goals for individual contributors.
Requirements
Based in US/Europe
Proven leadership of web3 infrastructure teams with 5+ engineers.
Demonstrated success in building and scaling backend/infrastructure systems.
Prior experience mentoring and scaling a high-performing team.
Passionate, with evidence such as GitHub activity, side projects, or public talks
Crypto native, experience from the leading companies in Web3
