CareMates - AI-supported patient admissions in the care sector
More time for care – less for paperwork and bureaucracy. With this mission, the founders of CareMates launched their journey at the end of 2023 in collaboration with Caritas in Munich, Germany, to digitalize one of the country's most essential pillars. In an aging society, the care sector is continuously growing while simultaneously struggling with severe staff shortages and high regulatory hurdles.
CareMates is the AI-powered CRM system for the social sector, streamlining inquiry and admission management for new residents and patients in care. Among the first customers are not only nonprofit organizations such as Caritas, Diakonie, and AWO but also private care providers.
In your role as a Software Engineer, you’re one of the first employees and therefore a crucial part of our 4-people engineering team. You closely collaborate with our two founders and Co-CTOs, Pablo and Johannes, and contribute to CareMates providing even more value for our clients.
Tasks
- Build with a cutting-edge tech stack – Work with modern technologies such as TypeScript, Next.js, AWS, and Pulumi, while integrating state-of-the-art AI models (LLMs) and care/medical APIs to revolutionize digital patient admissions and take CareMates to the next level.
- Shape technical architecture – Play a key role in architectural decisions, optimizing system design, performance, robustness, and scalability for the CareMates software.
- Own and deliver impactful features – Take ownership of end-to-end feature development, from planning and design to implementation and deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in full-stack development with Python and TypeScript as well as hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks like React and Next.js. - we also count relevant and impactful internships / working student positions
- Experience in cloud-native development with AWS and knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
- Strong understanding of systems design, software architecture, and best practices in scalability and performance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for diagnosing and resolving code and system health issues.
- Comfortable working independently in a hybrid setup
