Job Summary:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) for Conductor GmbH
- Support and assist as needed with most aspects of accounting management (AR, AP, financial statement preparation, cash flow reporting, technical accounting, tax form review, and other ad-hoc reporting, etc.)
- Manage intercompany transactions
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with local GAAP
- Maintain and monitor VAT collection and filing requirements.
- Organize and lead preparation of monthly close journal entry process, including balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis of financials and supporting workpapers.
- Liaise with external auditors and manage the local annual audit.
- Assist in providing support to external tax team for annual tax returns
- Manage all accounting and tax compliance filings
- Assist in delivering reports for management and external stakeholders
- Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies
- Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records
- Other ad-hoc requests
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations
- Coordinate with external parties, such as banks and regulatory authorities, for financial matters
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance financial operations.
- Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company's accounting practices remain current and compliant.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, Masters preferable
- 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance roles, experience in e-commerce is a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Good knowledge of German GAAP accounting standards (HGB).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Dedication to continuous improvement and a culture of excellence
- Business fluency in both German and English
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to see the issues behind the numbers
