    Our customer, CMBlu, started in 2011 as a research-driven project with the goal of storing electrical energy in any quantity in an environmentally friendly, sustainable and cost-effective manner. Since then, they have continuously expanded our broad IP portfolio and expertise in large-scale energy storage.

    They are a highly motivated, committed, and fast-growing team of over 180 employees now preparing for the market launch of their products and further professionalizing their organization.

    Tasks

    • Lead the design, execution, and analysis of complex real-time and accelerated aging tests to evaluate the long-term durability and reliability of advanced battery systems.
    • Drive the development, refinement, and validation of cutting-edge testing methodologies and protocols to ensure the highest standards of battery performance and quality, adhering to stringent industry standards and regulations.
    • Provide expert-level technical guidance and collaborate closely with R&D, quality, and manufacturing teams to translate durability test insights into actionable design improvements.
    • Leverage deep expertise in statistical tools, electrochemical analysis, and failure mode analysis to assess test data, identify patterns, and recommend strategic enhancements to battery technology.
    • Play a key role in defining and shaping the long-term development roadmap for battery systems, focusing on durability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Produce comprehensive technical reports and presentations, offering high-level insights and recommendations for senior management and cross-functional teams.
    • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, actively participate in trade shows, and ensure your work reflects the latest developments in battery durability testing and validation.

    Requirements

    • Advanced technical degree (Master’s/PhD) in mechanical engineering, materials science, electrochemistry, or a related field.
    • 8+ years of in-depth professional experience in battery or energy storage system development, with a strong focus on durability, aging, and reliability testing.
    • Deep knowledge and expertise in real-time and accelerated aging methods, battery lifecycle analysis, and failure mechanisms.
    • Proficiency in high-level statistical analysis and electrochemical testing techniques, with a track record of applying this knowledge to drive innovation.
    • Thorough understanding of relevant industry standards, norms, and regulations for battery testing and durability.
    • Proven ability to lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, and communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
    • Expert-level proficiency in data analysis and testing software, as well as common Office applications.
    • Excellent written and spoken English; German language skills are an advantage.
    • Strong presence in industry forums, with a passion for advancing energy storage technology and a proactive approach to integrating new trends into development processes.
