We are a growing startup from Berlin on a mission to accelerate the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects. We build a web platform to support project developers with data insights and integrations to build more projects, faster. We’re looking for a seasoned data analyst to join our team and help us build this exciting product!
You will be working directly with the CEO on building and continuously improving the data pipeline for our web-based geospatial information system (web-GIS). You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our web-GIS has the latest and most relevant data to provide our customers with the competitive advantage they look for. You will thrive in this role if you have apragmatic approach to problem solving, a strong interest in renewable energy and an urge to take ownership of your projects: from ideation to measuring their impact.
Aufgaben
- Understanding data needs of solar, wind and battery project developers by speaking to our customers and monitoring changes in regulations
- Identifying the relevant data sources and obtaining the data. That could involve downloading the data from public websites, writing a script to scrape the data or calling relevant institutions
- Implementing Python scripts to process the data in an ETL pipeline, which can include correlating data from multiple sources, transforming its shape or attributes
- Refining the data as needed to derive additional insights through advanced processing algorithms, including the use of machine learning techniques
- Tracking and managing our geospatial data catalogue to ensure that our customers can make the best use of it
- Managing and mentoring junior data analysts, assigning the individual data tasks to leverage your projects and build your data team
- Proactively suggesting and discussing the direction our product will take to win the market and accelerate renewable energy deployment
Qualifikation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German. Any other European language is an advantage
- Multiple years of demonstrated experience in processing geospatial data, ideally in the context of solar-, storage-, wind-, or grid-development
- Hands-on experience with data processing in python, QGIS or ArcGIS; PostGIS is a plus
- Passion for renewable energy project development
- Proactive personality with a pragmatic mindset as well as an eye for detail
