Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mid-Level Software Engineer with strong experience in Golang and preferably PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and reliable software applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers. You also must hold a valid work permit in EU or UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software applications using Golang.
• Utilize PostgreSQL for database design, development, and optimisation.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver robust software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring coding standards are maintained.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processes and practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our software remains current and competitive.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Golang, with a strong understanding of its paradigms, idioms, and syntax.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and micro-services architecture.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, including database design, development, and optimisation.

• Solid understanding of software development best practices, including version control (Git), testing, and CI/CD.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Applicants must have a valid work permit to work in EU or UK.

Desirable

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with other programming languages such as Python.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal GitHub portfolio.
