We are looking for an exceptional individual to join ExoMatter as a fullstack developer, working with Javascript and Ruby on Rails. In this role, you will be working directly on systems that power our Materials R&D platform.

Tasks

As a fullstack developer, you will be adding new features to our customer-facing materials screening and computation platform. You will work in our small but growing development team, alongside our Python developers and our our team of materials scientists.

Knowledge about Materials Science is not required

You will build new interfaces, implement new application functionality, and maintain the existing codebase
You will develop with "vanilla" Javascript (no frameworks), CSS (based on Bootstrap), HTML, and Ruby; working directly in our Ruby on Rails codebase
You will work on intergrations between our Ruby on Rails application and our Python computation backend, including scaling our queing and pooling systems

Requirements

You hold a degree in Computer Science or a related field
You have 2+ years commercial experience working with both Ruby on Rails, and with Javascript (ideally without frameworks)
You have strong experience in testing (specifically with RSpec)
Ability to work autonomously and self-manage are very important
Fluent in spoken and written English, German skills are a plus
You live in Munich or want to move to Munich within 3-4 months and are then willing to work ca. 50% of your time on-site

Not required, but a plus:

Experience working with Sidekiq, and/or other job management systems
Experience in UI/UX design/implementation
Experience with Python
Experience working in a startup environment
