    Junior Counsel - Commercial / General

    Legal, GRC, & Policy Department

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    As Junior Counsel supporting the DACH region, you will report to the Lead Counsel for DACH, FR & IT, and be based in Madrid. This role will require proactivity, autonomy, and drive. You will be involved in day-to-day legal support to the region, advise on corporate and operationally relevant matters to support the growth of the company, with a focus on the DACH region, draft and help commercial teams negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers and clients, all within a fast-paced company undergoing an ambitious regional expansion. 

    You will have the opportunity to work in multiple areas of the law , and be required to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members within and without the department. You will be expected to work in the following areas in German speaking countries (and providing additional support in similar tasks to other jurisdictions around the world):

    • Learning about legislation and jurisdictions in the DACH region for the matters entrusted to you
    • Drafting / revising key commercial contracts, terms and conditions, and similar legal documents
    • Providing support to business teams in their negotiations of deals and contracts you are involved in
    • Advising on general legal matters related to the DACH market and our product fit and compliance within them
    • Assist the  dispute resolution team in matters in the DACH market, to help them achieve practical, win-win results
    • Advice on engagement of, and coordinate and prioritise work of external legal advisors 
    • Assist and participate in knowledge management, including by preparing /revising internal templates, guides, and similar documents
    • Participate in ongoing compliance functions and product advice as required 
    • Prioritise your and others' work

     

    ABOUT YOU

    In order to be successful in this role, you will:

    • Be a barred / practising lawyer, with 2+ years of PQE in the legal field (corporate or law firm) 
    • Have academic legal training in a German  jurisdiction, and +2 PQE working with the region
    • Native German speaker, with a command of legal English (fluency in another language is a plus)
    • Have an excellent academic record and/or experience in top-notch companies or top-tier law-firms
    • Have a keen eye for strategy and business, and be committed to company goals
    • Possess strong technical skills
    • Be an effective communicator who brings emotional intelligence to work

    This role is located in Fever's offices in Berlin, and although we can be flexible with the timing you will be expected to move there if you are currently living elsewhere.
