We are seeking a Junior Data Scientist (all genders), to join a dynamic team of five within our Data department. In this role, you'll dive into diverse challenges, including building and deploying machine learning models, working with large datasets to extract valuable insights, and contributing to the development of innovative AI solutions. You'll have the chance to closely collaborate with experienced colleagues, gaining valuable mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities in a fun, fast-paced environment. You'll play a crucial role in extracting insights and developing data-driven products to optimize our fast-growing beauty e-commerce platform.

Your role

Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to support our data products

Employ statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms for regression, classification and clustering

Apply modern NLP techniques using transformers architectures (e.g. BERT, GPT)

Showcase your skills in e-commerce data science use-cases: demand forecasting, churn and CLTV modeling, pricing, customer segmentation, recommender systems, and personalization

Develop and implement models and workflows on our Databricks platform

Handle large-scale datasets using distributed computing framework such as Apache Spark

Collaborate with and present findings to non-technical stakeholders

Participate in internal training sessions and workshops to enhance your technical and soft skills

Your profile

Academic background in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field

Solid understanding of the data science fundamentals, including regression, classification, and clustering techniques

Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python. SQL skills for data querying and manipulation

Experience with common Data Science libraries (e.g. Scikit-Learn, numpy, matplotlib, pandas)

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to derive meaningful insights from large datasets

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn

Nice to have

Experience in domains like Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision and/or Time Series Forecasting

Experience with Databricks (our Data and AI platform) or Cloud platforms (such as AWS or GCP)

Previous experience in the e-commerce industry is a plus, including working student roles or internships

Full transparency: For this role, we have a salary band between 49,400€ and 62,000€ gross per year. The salary that we will offer you will always be within this span and is based on the skills that you show during the recruitment process.
