    About the position

    The Corporate Affairs Director for Germany at Flora Food Group will lead all corporate affairs and communications efforts within the German market, promoting the company's brands, mission, and innovations. This role is key in ensuring Flora Food Group's message resonates locally, aligning with both the global communications strategy and Germany's unique market needs. As part of the global communications team, this role focuses on building strong media relationships, driving impactful stakeholder campaigns, and positioning Flora Food Group as a leading advocate for sustainable, affordable nutrition in Germany. We are looking for a German national with ample connections in both media and government. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Localized Communication Strategy: Develop and implement an effective communications strategy for Germany, ensuring alignment with global objectives while tailoring messages to appeal to German consumers, media, and stakeholders.
    • Media Relations and Public Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with German media, influencers, and industry publications, enhancing Flora Food Group's reputation and brand visibility.
    • Content and Campaign Management: Create compelling, locally relevant content across various channels, including press releases, blog posts, and social media, to support brand positioning and product launches.
    • Crisis and Issue Management: Serve as the primary contact for managing communications in crisis or high-stakes situations, protecting Flora Food Group's reputation in Germany and ensuring swift, effective responses.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a spokesperson and brand ambassador, representing Flora Food Group in events, industry discussions, and media interactions, strengthening connections with German stakeholders, with a particular focus on consumer organizations.
    • Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with the German and global marketing teams, sustainability teams, and other departments to ensure cohesive messaging and strong cross-functional collaboration.

    So, what does it take to be successful in this role? 

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field is required. A master's degree is a plus.
    • Experience: At least 8 years in communications or public relations, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within the German market. Background in FMCG, food, or sustainability sectors is highly preferred.
    • Media Expertise: Proven experience in managing media relations, PR, and securing impactful placements in the German market.
    • Strong Communication and Writing Skills: Native-level proficiency in German and fluency in English, with exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing abilities tailored to local audiences.
    • Crisis Communication: Experience handling crisis communications, with a strong ability to develop strategies for risk management and reputation protection.
    • Strategic Insight: Demonstrated skill in developing and executing strategic communication plans that align with both global objectives and local market nuances.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including media, industry partners, and community groups.
