About the Role

In this role, you will support and advise plant management in implementing local and global HSSE measures (Health, Safety, Security and Environment). In line with our proactive safety culture, your tasks will not only include ensuring compliance with and monitoring legal and operational requirements in the areas of occupational safety, health protection, and environmental management, but also implementing and training on safety guidelines, procedures, and methods. Additionally, you will ensure that the HSSE management systems align with regulations and standards. As we aim for continuous improvement, you will also be responsible for planning and carrying out improvement projects related to occupational safety in coordination with our local management team and occupational health services.

You will:

• Develop, standardize, and implement of existing and new HSSE processes in compliance with current legislation and guidelines.
• Conduct and evaluate HSSE audits and participate in internal and external HSSE committees.
• Supervise the hazardous materials register and create risk assessments and operating instructions.
• Identify and maintain safety and environmental performance indicators.
• Prepare monthly and annual HSSE reviews and comprehensive reporting on all globally relevant HSSE topics.
• Advise employees on the implementation of HSSE goals, including conducting safety training sessions.
  
  

What do we expect from you?

You are an experienced HSSE Officer (m/f/d) with a strong background in food manufacturing, passionate about occupational safety, health, and environmental management. You hold a degree in occupational safety, engineering, or a related field, with certifications such as Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit. With at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, particularly in the food industry, you are well-versed in German safety and environmental regulations and have worked closely with local authorities. You excel in leadership, proactively driving improvements in HSE practices, engaging with senior teams, and managing projects to successful completion. Your strong communication skills in both German and English enable you to clearly convey complex safety information across all levels of the organization. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks, adapting to changing situations while maintaining a structured and results-driven approach.
