About this role :
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Hands-On Software Engineering Manager with a proficient PHP knowledge to lead and empower a team of talented engineers. You will oversee a team of engineers and their code that powers our fast-growing business while also contributing and developing processes. Above all, your work will contribute towards creating a more attractive, helpful and fashionable community for everyone!
Responsibilities:
- Provide architectural and technical leadership to a cross functional team of engineers
- Lead and mentor the team, providing technical guidance and career development support
- Work with a product owner to help the team break down tasks into manageable pieces
- Conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality and performance
- Oversee that application performance and scalability are maintained with every release
- Ensure proper documentation of all processes, codebases, and systems
- Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the team
Your Profile:
- You have some experience managing a team of engineers
- You have at least 5 years of experience with PHP
- Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Postgresql)
- Experience with PHP frameworks (we use Laravel)
- Knowledge of OO programming and design patterns
- Experience with unit testing and integration tests
- Self-motivation and a passion for learning new technologies
- Experience with Elasticsearch/Solr, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis, or Memcache is a plus
- Experience with TDD (PHPUnit) or BDD (Behat or Codeception)
- Experience with Composer / Packagist (double bonus points for having a package on packagist)
- Experience with any of the cloud computing platforms
- Experience with continuous integration (with Jenkins, TravisCI, etc.)
- Experience with containerization and docker
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with performance optimization
- Fluent in English
