  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our client, an international financial institution as a Deputy MLRO. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in enhancing and maintaining the bank’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) framework in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

    Tasks

    • Support the MLRO in developing, implementing, and monitoring the bank's AML and CTF policies and procedures.
    • Conduct risk assessments and provide strategic advice on AML/CTF risks.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to relevant authorities.
    • Oversee customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and transaction monitoring processes.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote a strong compliance culture and deliver AML/CTF training across the organization.
    • Stay updated on regulatory developments and ensure the bank’s compliance framework aligns with German and EU regulations.
    • Act as a point of contact for regulators and law enforcement agencies.
    • Assist in internal audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring the effective closure of findings.
    • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and the board on AML/CTF matters.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field.
    • several years of experience in AML/CTF, preferably in a deputy MLRO role within the banking sector.
    • Strong knowledge of German AML laws, EU directives, and global sanctions regimes.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and leadership abilities, with fluency in German and English.
