Your Role
As a Senior Data Engineer (f/m/d) at LIQID, you will play a pivotal role in building and optimizing the backbone of our data infrastructure. You will design scalable, high-performance data pipelines, ensure data integrity, and drive efficient data processing across the organization. Working closely with the Head of Data, Analytics Engineers, and cross-functional teams, you will develop robust data architectures, enhance data security, and implement best practices that empower data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What exactly will you do?
- Build and optimize data infrastructure: You will design and optimize scalable data pipelines and storage solutions to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable data processing. You will develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows that integrate data from various sources, ensuring seamless ingestion, transformation, and availability.
- Ensure data quality and security: You will implement and enforce processes for data quality, validation, and monitoring to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of data for analytical and operational use cases. Additionally, you will ensure data security and compliance by applying best practices and industry standards for handling sensitive data while enabling a scalable infrastructure.
- Collaboration and technology integration: You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define data models and enable self-service BI solutions. You will continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve scalability, performance, and future-proof of our data infrastructure.
What you bring
- Background: You have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or have equivalent hands-on experience in data engineering. You bring more than 5 years of professional experience in data processing, architecture, or a related role.
- Skills and Qualifications: You are proficient in SQL, Python, and ETL/ELT frameworks and have experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and database management (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL). You are familiar with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and modern data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt). You have a deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance and apply these best practices to ensure secure and scalable data operations. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, German is a plus.
- Mindset: You have a strong interest in fintech and a passion for data-driven decision-making. You have experience in the fintech industry and a strong desire to continuously improve our data infrastructure. Your communication skills allow you to present technical concepts clearly and work effectively with different teams across the organization.
