LOWTeq GmbH is expanding its horizons. We have recently formed an AI team and started a journey to integrate AI solutions into our well-established healthcare platform.

With more than 40 employees, LOWTeq GmbH is one of the leading German manufacturers of patient data management systems (PDMS) in the German-speaking region for emergency medicine, operative medicine and intensive care medicine with its super-specialization.

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with expertise in generative AI and time series foundation models to join our AI team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and deploying advanced AI models to enhance our healthcare platform's predictive capabilities. The position is available in Cologne, with the option for a remote setup.

Tasks

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will join our AI Team and play an important role in developing our deployment infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

Package, deploy, test, and monitor machine learning models to ensure performance and reliability using technologies like NVIDIA Triton.
Develop automated systems for model training, retraining, and deployment to improve efficiency using GitHub Actions.
Implement containerization using Docker and Kubernetes to streamline deployment processes.
Leverage streaming technologies such as Kafka for real-time data processing.
Work with databases, writing SQL queries to manage and analyze time series data.
Utilize cloud platforms like AWS for machine learning tasks, ensuring scalability and security.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions seamlessly into our healthcare platform.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical team.
At least 3 years of practical programming experience (Python/C++/Java).
Proficiency in Linux with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Strong background in working with databases (SQL), ML tools (PyTorch, NVIDIA Triton), cloud platforms (AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and streaming technologies (Kafka).

Nice-to-have:

Experience in developing and deploying generative AI models, particularly for time series data within the healthcare domain.
Background or interest in developing healthcare solutions.
Excellent communication skills and a creative mindset.
