Tasks
- Design and update 2D electrical systems and wiring harness diagrams for autonomous vehicles, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Define and document wiring, cabling, and other related technical specifications.
- Create and maintain a Bill of Materials (BOM) with detailed components and supplier information.
- Source components, collaborate with vendors, and ensure the timely delivery of quality hardware for vehicle builds.
- Manage cost and performance metrics within design specifications.
- Manufacture and install wiring harnesses, sensors, and electrical equipment in vehicles.
- Conduct testing and diagnostics on electrical installations.
- Develop and improve processes for electrical design, installation, and manufacturing.
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety and industry standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Automotive/Industrial Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electrical design projects and hands-on installations.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, CAN networks, and in-vehicle solutions.
- Solid knowledge of electrical principles, circuitry, and electronic components.
- Proficiency with tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, and crimping tools.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Willingness to travel when necessary.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A collaborative and team-oriented attitude.
Would be a plus
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC and signal protection.
- Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with electrical systems.
- Familiarity with ISO26262 and safe design approaches.
- An understanding of mechatronics and PCB design.
- Experience with agile development methods.
- Enthusiasm for autonomous driving technology.
- German language skills.
