    Tasks

    • Develop embedded software for Drive-by-Wire (DbW) systems used in autonomous vehicle platforms.
    • Participate in software architectural design and implementation.
    • Design and debug CAN bus systems and other communication protocols.
    • Perform hardware-software integration and vehicle parameterization.
    • Conduct sensor calibration and other system tuning processes.
    • Develop DbW features tailored to autonomous vehicle use cases.
    • Test developed solutions in real-vehicle environments.
    • Contribute to creating and refining software development processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design DbW system requirements.
    • Support the installation of electrical equipment in vehicles.
    • Assist electrical and mechanical engineers in their work.
    • Document all development and implementation processes.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Automotive, Industrial Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Control Engineering (or equivalent).
    • Proven experience in software development and control engineering.
    • Proficiency in C, Matlab/Simulink, or similar tools for automation.
    • Knowledge of automotive CAN networks and other communication systems.
    • Familiarity with model-based design approaches.
    • Solid understanding of automotive systems, in-vehicle solutions, and mechatronics.
    • Ability to comprehend microcontrollers, complex electrical systems, and their functionalities.
    • Fluent in spoken and written English.
    • Willingness to travel when required.
    • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

    Would be a plus

    • Experience with vehicle control systems, Drive-by-Wire systems, or general vehicle integration.
    • Knowledge of peripherals such as I2C, SPI, and UART.
    • Field testing experience with complex systems, including autonomous platforms, robotics, or motorsport projects.
    • Enthusiasm for autonomous driving technology and a strong technology interest.
    • Familiarity with agile development methods.
    • Knowledge of ISO26262 and safe design approaches.
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • German language skills.
