    About us:

    Nanogami is a highly innovative and rapidly growing startup in the field of DNA Origami-based nanotechnology (check out our DLD Talk or this article to learn more). Our international team is driven by a shared vision: to pioneer a novel generation of biochips set to unlock applications in research and diagnostics and thereby pushing the boundaries of personalised medicine to new heights. We recently secured significant funding by SPRIND - Germany’s Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation to realize our ambitious growth trajectory and now aim to significantly expand our current team to support the at-scale commercialisation of our nanotechnology.

    Your tasks:

    • Preparation of buffers, samples and bioreactors as well as transformation of E. coli cells.
    • Support of laboratory operations in day-to-day business and laboratory organisation.
    • Maintenance of reagents and inventory according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Support in calibration, maintenance and validation of laboratory equipment.
    • General maintenance and cleaning in the laboratory.
    • Documenting and ensuring the correct recording of all results.
    • Working with the IT and procurement teams to gain a deeper insight into laboratory processes.
    • Conducting minor shake flask processes in the biotechnology team.

    Requirements

    • You are currently a student studying biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or a related subject.
    • Ideally, you have some practical experience in an (S1) laboratory environment.
    • Willingness to work 20 hours per week alongside your studies.
    • You have a conscientious and detail-oriented approach to work.
    • Interest and willingness to work with biological samples.
    • An independent and self-motivated way of working, as well as team spirit and good communication skills in an interdisciplinary environment.
    • Experience in using the common MS Office package
    • Fluent English and good German skills
