  • For our location in Freiburg im Breisgau, we are looking for a Design Engineering Lead (f/m/d).

    Tasks

    • Working closely with the CTO, defining the architecture of the next-generation hardware for Nexwafe wafer production within the specified timeframe to achieve objectives.
    • Modifying and enhancing existing manufacturing hardware for Nexwafe wafer production.
    • Ensuring design specifications meet all necessary criteria for marketing, process yield, production throughput, reliability, cost, and safety.
    • Developing conceptual and detailed designs of components.
    • Guide the team in conducting structural, thermal, and chemical analyses of composite and metal components to meet customer requirements.
    • Managing and building a design team, enhancing existing design qualities and guidelines.
    • Setting clear objectives and results-oriented leadership for the design team and reporting on key engineering metrics.

    Requirements

    • Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
    • More than 5 years of hands-on experience in hardware engineering and development, preferably developing advanced electro-mechanical systems, in-line motion systems, resistive, inductive, or radiant heating systems, CVD reactors, vacuum systems, and/or advanced machine control software.
    • Demonstrated track record of successfully executing complex engineering projects within budget and on schedule. Experience in developing industrial systems to manufacture quality products.
    • Experience in developing industrial systems to manufacture quality products and implementing Continuous Improvement Process for those systems.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in product launch from concept to completion.
    • At least 10 years of leadership experience in technical roles involving team management.
    • Industrial experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the photovoltaic, semiconductor, or production manufacturing industries.
    • Knowledge of engineering inline tools, constant improvement within high temperature CVD and epitaxy systems are preferred.
    • Proficiency in English, with German language skills being preferred.
