Tech Lead (m/w/d) in fast growing MedTech for Eye Care

Role Overview: As the Tech Lead at Ocumeda, you will be the driving force behind our engineering efforts, responsible for guiding technical decisions, coordinating work across our telemedicine platform and AI-powered diagnostic device teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable products. This role blends hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who thrives in both areas.

Tasks

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Technical Leadership: Technical Leadership: Provide direction on the architecture and design of both our telemedicine platform and diagnostic software medical device, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with our business goals.
• Hands-On Development: Engage directly with the codebase, particularly in complex and critical areas, to ensure the technical integrity of our products. Help solve challenging technical problems and unblock the team when necessary.
• Quality Assurance: Lead efforts to maintain high standards in code quality, performance, and reliability. Conduct thorough code reviews and implement best practices across the engineering team.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to translate product requirements into actionable technical plans, balancing scope, time, and quality.
• Team Coordination:Facilitate communication within the engineering team, ensuring alignment on technical decisions and project timelines. Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee the management and optimization of our AWS-based infrastructure, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to ensure efficient, scalable deployment processes.
• Technological Advancement: Identify and evaluate new technologies and trends, assess their relevance to our systems, and integrate them to continuously improve our technical infrastructure.

Requirements

You are a good fit for this role if you

• 5+ years of full stack development experience, with significant exposure to cloud platforms like AWS and experience with Infrastructure as Code tools
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects, particularly in a startup or product-focused environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and deliver practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI/ML, particularly in a healthcare or diagnostics context, is a strong advantage.
• You are fluent in English, German is a plus
