    Role: Language Lead, FTC - 12 months (w/m/d)

    Location: Berlin, Germany (Required to be in the office one day per week in Kleinmachnow) 

     

    About the role:

    The German Language Lead will be responsible for managing and ensuring the linguistic quality of all German content for our FinTech client, including product descriptions, customer communications, legal documentation, marketing materials, and UI/UX elements. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including project managers, linguists, and client stakeholders, to ensure that all German-language content is compliant with industry regulations and resonates with a German-speaking audience. 

    What you will be doing:

    • Language Quality Oversight: Lead, manage, and oversee the quality assurance of German translations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance.
    • Client Collaboration: Act as the primary linguistic point of contact for the client, managing expectations, addressing feedback, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction in the local market. Become the expert of the product and customer experience in the local market.
    • Project leadership: plan, drive, monitor and report on language improvement projects and their progress, in partnership with World-Ready, central and local stakeholders
    • Terminology Management: Develop and maintain glossaries, style guides, and linguistic assets specific to the FinTech sector to ensure consistency and adherence to brand tone.
    • Compliance: Ensure all German-language content complies with industry-specific regulations, particularly those related to financial services and FinTech.
    • Linguistic Quality Audits: Perform quality audits and conduct linguistic testing on localized products and services to identify and address any issues.
    • Process Improvement: Continuously review and refine the localization process, suggesting improvements in workflows, tools, and best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
    • Feedback Management: Collect, analyze, and integrate client feedback into future translations, ensuring continuous improvement in language quality.
    • Training & Onboarding: Train and onboard vendor-side resources to apply language standards in translation work. 

    What you need to be great in this role:

    • Native or Near-Native German Speaker: Exceptional proficiency in both German and English (written and spoken).
    • Linguistic Expertise: Strong understanding of language quality assurance, translation, and localization processes, particularly within the FinTech or financial services industry.
    • Experience: 5+ years of experience in language quality management, translation, or localization, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • FinTech Knowledge: Familiarity with FinTech terminology, regulatory requirements, and financial products is a strong plus.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAT tools, terminology management software, and quality assurance tools (Experience with TransPerfect GlobalLink a plus).
    • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve linguistic and contextual issues.
    • Project Management: Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and client stakeholders.
