  • Omnisent is pioneering scalable acoustic sensing powered by AI — transforming audio into real-time intelligence.

We build hardware + software tailored for acoustic data, designed to extract insights from complex acoustic signals. Our proprietary ultra-low-power sonic devices capture and process acoustic signals in real-time, training what we call a Large Acoustic Model (LAM) — our foundation model built to decode the rich, messy, and untapped world of non-speech audio.

We’re starting with the manufacturing industry, applying our tech to compressed air systems — one of the most overlooked sources of energy waste. From there, we’re expanding into energy, defense, space, and smart cities — sectors where sound is the next frontier.

    Tasks

    Embedded Systems Design & Development

    • Architect, develop, and test embedded firmware to translate detection algorithms and operating procedures for our sensor platform (sensor + gateway) for embedded microcontrollers.
    • Design and implement software drivers, communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I²C, UART, CAN), and peripheral interfaces (including GPS, data storage, ADC) to ensure efficient device operation.
    • Optimize code for performance, data-compression, power efficiency, and reliability across various operating conditions and harsh environmental conditions.

    Hardware & System Integration

    • Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and signal processing teams to integrate embedded systems with PCBs, sensor interfaces, and communication modules.
    • Design and implement test routines to validate the reliability and responsiveness of the sensors in-field at our pilots facilities.
    • Support the prototyping process by refining hardware/software integration during rapid product iterations.

    Debugging, Testing & Documentation

    • Lead debugging efforts using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers; identify and resolve integration issues to ensure robust performance.
    • Prepare and document test procedures, results, and revisions during the system lifecycle.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

    • Work closely with electronic, AI, and mechanical teams to iterate on system improvements and adapt to evolving project requirements.
    • Contribute to developing best practices and design documentation, ensuring that knowledge is continuously shared among teams.
    • Assist in coordinating with research labs and third-party test facilities to validate findings and translate research into practical embedded solutions.

    Requirements

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field, or 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
    • 2+ years of experience in embedded systems design, firmware development, or hardware/software integration.
    • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming, and familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level hardware debugging tools.
    • Experience with integrated development environments (IDEs), version control systems (e.g., Git), and embedded development tools.
    • Strong analytical skills and a sound understanding of hardware interfacing, digital signal processing, and communication protocols.
    • Fluency in English
    • Valid EU work permit

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
    • 4+ years of experience in developing embedded systems in industrial, automotive, or IoT applications.
    • Familiarity with low-power design techniques and optimizing for energy efficiency in embedded applications.
    • Experience working with modern connectivity solutions such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRa, or cellular technologies in an embedded context.
    • Knowledge of compliance and certification requirements for electronic systems (e.g., FCC, CE, IP ratings).
    • Experience with hardware simulation and debugging tools, such as JTAG, SWD, or logic analyzers.
    • German language skills.

Join us in redefining how the world listens, understands, and responds through intelligent acoustic sensing.

In your cover letter, we’d love to hear about your personal interests, what drives you, why this role feels like the right fit — and most importantly, why Omnisent.
