Omnisent is pioneering scalable acoustic sensing powered by AI — transforming audio into real-time intelligence.
We build hardware + software tailored for acoustic data, designed to extract insights from complex acoustic signals. Our proprietary ultra-low-power sonic devices capture and process acoustic signals in real-time, training what we call a Large Acoustic Model (LAM) — our foundation model built to decode the rich, messy, and untapped world of non-speech audio.
We’re starting with the manufacturing industry, applying our tech to compressed air systems — one of the most overlooked sources of energy waste. From there, we’re expanding into energy, defense, space, and smart cities — sectors where sound works magic.
Tasks
Mechanical Design & Prototyping:
- Design and prototype enclosures for acoustic devices and embedded systems, optimized for diverse environments
- Create and iterate 3D CAD models (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) with attention to mechanical robustness, acoustic transparency, and manufacturability
- Select materials and fasteners suited for harsh environments, low-vibration, and thermal resilience
Device Integration:
- Collaborate with electrical and signal processing teams to ensure proper mechanical integration of acoustic devices and PCBs
- Develop mechanical designs that support low-noise signal acquisition and maintain acoustic fidelity
- Support vibration damping, acoustic isolation, and thermal management in devices assemblies
Certification & Compliance:
- Prepare hardware for environmental and regulatory certifications, including IP (e.g., IP67/IP68), CE marking, and mechanical stress testing (vibration, shock, temperature cycling)
- Document designs and ensure alignment with certification standards during the development lifecycle
- Assist in coordinating with test labs and managing compliance documentation
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with firmware, hardware, and AI teams to ensure tight integration between mechanical, electrical, and software components
- Support prototype development, functional testing, and iterative field deployment in real-world conditions
