Tasks
Role Overview:
Production of our first product Berry, an autonomous strawberry harvesting robot, is your main task. Our harvesting robots can move autonomously through the greenhouse, pick fruits, exchange the crates and handle difficult scenarios. All hardware components can be fully controlled by the robot’s software. Producing Berry means not only manufacturing and assembling hardware but also deploying and testing software on the robots. As the department leader, you ensure that our products match our high-quality standards and work reliably in the field. Together with our partner EBZ which does the sourcing, mechanical, and electrical assembly you will scale our production for today's and tomorrow's robots.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the sourcing, manufacturing, assembly, and testing of our robots
- Coordination with our partners on production and sourcing
Depending on your skills and interests:
- Engineering of testing and production equipment
- Coordination with our suppliers
- Close interaction with our R&D and service department to improve the design of Berry
- Updating the production line with design iterations of our robots and setting up new production lines for new products
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience with either product development or production of software-controlled hardware products
- Hands-on experience with mechanical or mechatronics engineering
- Hands-on experience with sourcing and production
- Experience with CAD-systems (e.g. SolidEdge)
- A passion for the development and production of innovative solutions and creative ideas to improve our robots
- Team spirit and entrepreneurial thinking
- Fluency in German and English required
- German drivers license class B
Optional:
- Experience with product certification for example CE
- Experience with software development in C++ or Python
