Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d)

Together with the CDO of the Schunk Group, an international technology group with operations in 26 countries, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d) to further develop the group-wide digitization strategy at the Heuchelheim site (FFM area).

With a turnover of 1.6 billion euros and more than 9,600 employees, the Schunk Group is one of the leading manufacturers of products made of high-tech materials and innovations in the fields of high-performance microchips, renewable energies, optics and laser technologies.

Tasks

• As Technical Lead, you are responsible for the conception, development and implementation of data engineering processes on the Schunk Data Platform
• In close cooperation with a team of data scientists and software experts, you are responsible for the planning, implementation and coordination of complex data pipelines
• You lead the implementation of sophisticated data integrations of systems on-prem, in the Azure cloud and in the IoT area and are involved in generative AI projects for products, e.g. in the areas of optical and environmental simulation systems and digital pantographs
• You ensure uniform principles and standards of ETL processes, question the status quo and initiate optimization possibilities

Requirements

• Expertise in big data engineering with relevant technologies (e.g. Spark/PySpark, SQL, NoSQL) and in building scalable data platforms
• Well-versed in working in the cloud environment, ideally already experience with MS Azure (Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake)
• Sound knowledge in the development of ETL processes including interface connection
• Knowledge of CI/CD and data governance processes is an advantage
• Experience of working in an international environment and business fluent in English
