  • Come and do your life’s work - Why we do what we do

At Phlair, we’re on a mission to reverse climate change with Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. Our scalable, cost-efficient electrochemical DAC system removes CO2 from the atmosphere, storing it permanently or converting it into CO2-negative chemicals. We’ve developed a breakthrough hydrolizer for acid/base regeneration, and we’re working with forward-thinking customers like Frontier Climate, Stripe, Shopify, and Klarna.
As a Working Student in Mechatronics & Control Engineering, you’ll play a critical role in developing and optimizing systems that power our DAC technology at scale. You’ll work alongside our Control and Data Engineer, Xun, to implement, improve, and maintain the core software and systems that enable our innovative technology.

    • Completed a BSc in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
    • Hands-on experience with automation systems (e.g., Beckhoff, Siemens)
    • Advanced microcontroller programming experience (beyond basic Arduino projects)
    • Practical experience working in mechatronic projects within a team environment
    • Familiarity with Git for version control
    • A proactive mindset, with the ability to solve complex engineering problems independently
    Who You Are / Skills:
    • Has a “can-do” attitude and doesn’t get discouraged when things don’t go as planned

    • Takes responsibility for their work and tries to find solutions independently before seeking help
    • Holds themselves accountable for meeting deadlines and hitting timelines
    • Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities
    • Skilled in reading and interpreting datasheets for technical components
    • Comfort with repetitive tasks (e.g., writing code for multiple sensors)
    • Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and follow through with minimal supervision

    Great to have, but optional

    • Experience with network setup and IT infrastructure
    • Familiarity with CAD software and design tools
    • Ability to solve complex problems without relying on AI tools

    What we offer you

    • Competitive compensation package
