About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team!
Data is at the core of Plantix's business. We base decisions and actions on insights generated by data. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will leverage your expertise in data analysis and machine learning to develop impactful data products, including disease outbreak alerts, market intelligence tools and disease forecast models. Working with a small, dedicated team, you will balance strategic guidance with hands-on coding, driving the assessment, building and iteration of crucial data solutions that make a significant difference. This is the case of developing new concepts and models from 0 to 1. Your role will also involve mentoring team members while actively contributing to the technical development of these products.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex problem statements into actionable technical solutions, considering feasibility, available resources and timelines
• Lead the complete lifecycle of designing, developing and deploying scalable machine learning solutions to deliver impactful data products
• Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of analysts and geospatial engineers, ensuring project milestones are achieved and high-quality standards are maintained
• Actively engage in coding and technical development, contributing directly to the creation and refinement of data products
• Partner with Software Engineers, Data Engineers and DevOps teams to ensure system compatibility and operational efficiency
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for project execution, overseeing planning, deployment and monitoring processes
