Your role and goals

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Developer to play a pivotal role in developing and improving the usability and user experience of our Productsup platform. By leveraging your expertise, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies, and collaborating with a talented team, you will contribute to the continued success and innovation of our platform.

Productsup provides a powerful platform that empowers businesses to efficiently collect, organize, and enhance their product data from multiple sources. With hundreds of servers under its command, Productsup showcases its prowess in efficiently managing massive infrastructure and delivering exceptional services with our internally developed processing pipeline processing ~27 trillion products per year.

In your first 3 months you will:

• Build a deep understanding of our product, infrastructure, and processing pipeline
• Work as part of an agile team to improve our core processing pipeline and deliver new features
• Play a key cross-functional role within our team of highly talented frontend and backend developers
• Use your fresh perspective to improve our backend components and infrastructure

In your first 6 months and beyond you will:

• Work closely with our Product Team to develop solutions in the form of new features or products
• Develop internal APIs and client-facing interfaces
• Optimize the speed and efficiency of our processing pipeline, suggest and implement new approaches
• Become an expert on the core product and mentor other departments using your knowledge

What you bring to the team

• 5+ years of work experience in PHP
• You love teamwork and enable your team
• Quality and tests are of utter importance to you. Your solutions will still be pragmatic and maintainable
• You leave things in a better state and larger challenges motivate you
• You have a data-driven approach and a passion for measuring and optimizing
• You have very good knowledge of common PHP frameworks (such as Symfony)
• You have experience with Linux and long-running PHP command line (CLI) applications
• You have extended knowledge in MySQL and SQLite
• You have experience with Linux, Docker, and containerized applications
• API-first development experience
• Experience with a microservice architecture
• You are self-driven, structured, proactive, and responsible
• Knowledge of Golang or Angular is a plus
• You are a clear and concise communicator with a customer-centric approach
• You have excellent English skills, both written and spoken
