  • About the Job

    We’re looking for a motivated Head of IT to join one of our portfolio companies and drive its IT strategies.

    In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on ensuring the IT strategies and get the opportunity to contribute to various projects.

    Join our portfolio company: A German company focused on designing and manufacturing innovative, award-winning office furniture. Through its pioneering e-commerce platform, the company also provides custom interior design and planning solutions to hundreds of thousands of businesses.

    In this role, you’ll:

    • Create the IT strategy and build the digital backbone of the organisation, support the transition to a process-driven organisation in an international multi-channel environment
    • Be responsible for the entire development and maintenance of the IT landscape with a strong focus on ERP (MS Dynamics), CRM (MS Dynamics), shop software (Shopware), BI (MS Power BI) and further interfaces to marketing, warehousing and supplier software
    • Build up of a strong inhouse tech team in infrastructure, administration, data, and IT security including a strong PMO
    • Manage a team of external implementation partners and hold them accountable for a timely delivery of all scoped projects
    • Build a master data backbone and processes for all company data requirements
    • Lead the software engineering department through a transparent leadership style with a strong focus on creating a great team spirit
    • Enable cross team collaboration and alignment with the focus on delivering impact in a timely manner
    • Support a culture of ownership, passion, respectfulness and successfully cross the finish line as a team

    Typical Tasks

    • Enabling a reliable and uninterrupted operation of infrastructure as well as a user-oriented IT-Support
    • IT budgeting and cost management
    • Development and tracking of relevant KPIs also as a basis for continuous optimisation of systems and processes
    • GDPR compliance and IT-/data security

    Your Profile

    • Software engineering background on multiple languages and platforms and understanding of agile product development
    • Experience in managing multiple product owners, engineering teams and steering agencies & external development teams
    • Experience in management of a complex enterprise software tech stack
    • Knowledge of the development and implementation of IT strategy (architecture, processes, applications) in a multichannel environment
    • Background in international environments and hyper-growth companies
    • Involvement in growing, coaching, mentoring and providing feedback to tech leads and developers
    • Understanding of master data management
    • Webshop-Experience required
    • Project management skills in the area of E-Commerce & relevant systems (ERP, Shop, CRM etc.)
    • Significant, sound, and proven experience in understanding different frontend and/or backend architecture patterns like microservices, event-driven systems, etc.
    • Ability to challenge your direct reports on their home turf
    • Excellent and clear communication skills both towards team and management/Board
    • Ability and drive to identify, prioritise and execute opportunities for further growth and professionalisation
    • Being interested in familiarising yourself with new topics and constantly improving and developing processes with your own ideas, even across departments
    • Understanding that leadership is not a privilege but a responsibility
    • Proven track record of taking a pragmatic approach while solving problems and passionate about code quality
    • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken

    Please note that we are looking for support in the Meerbusch office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
