Embedded software engineer (m/f/d)

As an Embedded ESC / BLDC software engineer, you will be a significant key function of our Architecture team. You will maintain and optimize our motor controller firmware(s) to increase the efficiency and performance of our drive trains. You will develop, implement and optimize the control algorithms to ensure a safe and reliable operation of our drones.
With our world-class teams, currently twenty-two members, you will play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of software development and deployment. You will work closely with stakeholders from our embedded teams as well as our flight control and electronics team to streamline and optimize the motor control firmware.
By ensuring high code quality and efficient and reliable motor control algorithms, you will support Quantum Systems in its mission to become the benchmark for aerial data collection solutions with unmanned aerial systems (sUAV).

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• You push the envelope for our motor controllers to greater efficiency and performance
• You maintain and optimize our motor controller firmware to operate the motors reliably and safely
• You develop, implement and optimize motor control algorithms for sensorless BLDC motors
• You conduct ESC and BLDC tests and optimize and tune the ESC hardware
• You define test cases for our testing team and you perform post-flight analyses
• You maintain and optimize the motor test stand and you automate tests and the data analyses
• You maintain and optimize other high power and power distribution component firmware
• You contribute and collaborate on embedded firmware development for the overall system
• You support and contribute in the daily embedded development
