    The Software Architect has the primary responsibility for design of software systems and components. This includes defining interfaces between software components and ensuring that system software interacts properly with other internal and external hardware and software components. To accomplish these tasks, the Software Architect works with other software architects, project managers, and software/hardware developers within and outside the organization. The Software Architect provides guidance to other Software Architects and to Software Developers, and is a key point of contact for technical questions related to software architecture and design.

    Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Overall responsibility for designing the software architecture based on given system requirements 
    • Define interface descriptions together with internal or external teams 
    • Main technical point of contact for internal and external parties on software architecture and interface questions
    • Provide input to high-level and low-level Software Requirements
    • Give input to estimated efforts to create and update a project plans
    • Guide and mentor other Software Architects and Developers to ensure smooth development and integration 
    • Support test teams in understanding the software components and systems to implement and execute their test cases
    • Continuously contribute to improve processes related to software design  

    Requirements

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Successfully completed studies in computer sciences or another comparable study program, or a successfully completed training in a comparable IT profession 
    • 0-3 years of experience working in a similar role 
    • 6+ years of experience as a software developer for production software 
    • 3+ years of Linux platform experience 
    • Design pattern experience 
    • Very good knowledge of software and application design and architecture 
    • Technical mindset with great attention to detail 
    • Understand the end-to-end product lifecycle 
    • Ability to deal with full-stack problems 
    • Ability to keep the whole product/interfaces/software/hardware in mind when making decisions 
    • Knowledge of the software development V model and DO-178 standard isis very advantageous 

    Soft Skills:

    • Strong written and verbal English communication skills 
    • Proactive and organized
    • Ability to balance multiple assignments 
    • Ability to effectively resolve problems 
    • Ability to work independently, with minimal direction 
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 
    • Ability to guide and mentor people is advantageous 
    • Ability to use discretion and independent judgment when making decisions on behalf of the company
