  • Product Management Expert for Data Architecture

    Key Responsibilities & Tasks

    Product Development / Iteration / Sprint Planning

    • Own the domain of SAP LeanIX’s data governance and data catalogue capabilities with primary focus on making SAP data products and their usage visible in SAP LeanIX by closely integrating with SAP’s data management portfolio (SAP Business Data Cloud / SAP Datasphere)
    • Drive transparency, visibility, and understanding across all stakeholders.
    • Define and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with both customer needs and strategic goals.
    • Actively drive user experience research and design involvement to deliver an intuitive, delightful user experience, helping users realize the full value of the product.
    • Partner with Engineering to ensure the product can be easily configured, deployed, used, and supported while maintaining reliability, cost-efficiency, and compliance with SAP’s platform strategy.
    • Collaborate with UX to ensure the product provides seamless and engaging user experiences, delivering measurable business value.
    • Post-launch, utilize product optimization techniques to rapidly improve and refine the product.
    • Actively monitor product adoption, usage telemetry, and customer feedback channels to identify performance opportunities and adapt plans to meet product satisfaction KPIs.

    Team Leadership

    • Provide mentorship, coaching, and feedback to support the success of team members.
    • Assist in building a high-performing team, fostering motivation and integration of employees, and promoting team learning and development.
    • Set clear goals together with team members, inspire them, and support their efforts to accomplish these objectives.

    Product Vision & Strategy

    • Define a product vision and strategy with a focus on solving customer pain points around data governance and cataloging, particularly in the area of SAP data management (SAP Business Data Cloud)
    • Partner with Product Marketing to analyze the competitive landscape, Total Addressable Market (TAM), and customer sentiment, staying informed on the latest enterprise architecture and business transformation trends.
    • Engage with customers and SAP stakeholders to understand challenges, constraints, and emerging needs.
    • Ensure the product is optimized for maximum growth, aligned to target customer needs, and uniquely differentiated from competitors.
    • Influence product pricing and commercialization strategy in collaboration with Product Marketing and the Monetization team.

    Program Increment Execution, Product Supportability, and Enablement

    • Own the decision-making process for building in-house, partnering, or leveraging existing solutions.
    • Make portfolio decisions and manage associated budgets, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products and effective cost management.
    • Define and oversee the release strategy for SAP extension discovery features.
    • Contribute to long-term product direction while staying aware of cross-product SAP initiatives, identifying and resolving potential overlaps.
    • Work with Engineering and Product Support to ensure effective supportability and technical enablement of the product.
    • Ensure technical training, onboarding, and adoption processes align with customer requirements.

    Customer and Partner Engagement

    • Drive awareness and adoption of SAP’s data management portfolio (SAP Business Data Cloud) by delivering critical capabilities in SAP LeanIX.
    • Engage directly with customers to support escalations and ensure satisfaction.

    Experience & Educational Requirements

    • Fluent in Business English.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent education

    Job-Specific Skills

    • Technology Trends: Expert proficiency (Level 4).
    • Presentation Skills: Expert proficiency (Level 4).
    • Industry-Specific Know-How: Advanced proficiency (Level 3).
    • Design Thinking: Advanced proficiency (Level 3).
    • Application Expertise: Expert proficiency (Level 4).

    Additional Domain-Specific Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, ideally with Product Owner responsibilities in the area of SAP’s Data and Analytics portfolio
    • Strong experience in developing extensions to standard software, particularly SAP systems.
    • Proven knowledge of SAP’s data strategy and SAP’ data management solution portfolio (incl. SAP Datasphere and SAP BW)
    • Experience in collaborating with functions such as UX design, Customer Success, and Sales in a modern SaaS company
    • Hands-on, agile mindset, with a track record of building capabilities from scratch.
    • A holistic view of product success, ensuring features deliver measurable value for customers and align with their business transformation need
