Senvo is a young start-up working on changing the face of last mile logistics. We enable logistics companies, e-commerce providers and producers to ship goods more effectively and efficiently. We are a tight-knit team of highly driven and smart people who are supportive of each other, passionate about technology, and compassionate with our users.
The logistics domain is complex and challenging, offering great space for creativity and ingenuity. This is why we highly value a combination of creativity and problem-solving skills. Every team member is encouraged to stay in close contact with our customers and partners, come up with innovative and bold solutions, and work in a self-driven manner to bring their ideas to fruition. We practice over-communication to make sure everyone understands the driving factors of our business, and how tech is guided by them.
**Tech Stack
**We rely heavily on Python and PostgreSQL on the backend, using modern libraries and tools such as SQLAlchemy, FastAPI, Pydantic and Poetry. The frontend SPA is written in TypeScript using React and MUI. Our application runs on AWS, with a combination of serverless and containerized workloads, orchestrated using Terraform. Persistency is distributed over PostgreSQL, DocumentDB and S3.
Tasks
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join us to build a great product in the logistics domain. Here is what you will be doing as a part of the Senvo dev team:
- Take our logistics intelligence platform to the next level, by adding business logic to simplify processes and discovering inefficiencies, integrating new logistics APIs, and further developing our own API for the frontend application.
- Create transparency and reliability by integrating monitoring and telemetry tools.
- Drive business goals by designing and planning new features in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Integrate AI capabilities to speed up and improve API integration and document processing
Requirements
- Proven track record in developing large-scale backend software, preferably event-driven ETL systems and data pipelines.
- Extensive experience with Python and the backend ecosphere.
- Deep understanding of different kinds of testing and test-driven development.
- Experience with designing and running cloud-native applications. Ops experience, especially Terraform expertise is a big plus.
- Experience with various data persistency solutions, including good understanding of performance and scalability characteristics, transaction semantics and data modelling capabilities.
- Good understanding of monitoring and telemetry in the backend context, tools for implementing these, and their use in daily operations.
Attitude:
- Taking initiative: You see your job not as implementing features but creating value for customers. As such, you don't refrain from talking to relevant parties to get information, asking questions to understand underlying problems, making alternative proposals and improving the process and the requirements.
- High tolerance for ambiguity: You can develop software pragmatically for constantly changing requirements, keeping different options open and the assumptions well-documented.
- Bias towards action: You prefer to create a quick implementation with trade-offs to verify your assumptions instead of waiting for complete information.
Why work at Senvo?
- You will be free to design and implement your own solutions. You will also be able to take time to do research if you think more thought and in-depth understanding is necessary to move forward.
- We value developer experience very highly. Our codebase is covered by a detailed test suite that is designed to be easily executed and all deployment processes are completely automated. This enables us to deploy multiple times a day without any extra effort. Developers are also free to choose their development tools, with the costs covered by Senvo.
- We are hiring to keep and will do our best to make sure you can grow. We have a developer career ladder in place providing you with a concrete path to specializing in areas you find interesting and moving forward in your career.
- You will be working very close to business concerns, putting you on the front row of a fast paced start-up. You will be able to follow the software sales process from discovery to implementation to evaluation, giving you all the necessary tools to becoming a better professional.
