  • We are seeking a world-class Senior RF, mixed signal & analog IC design engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on designing a revolutionary massive beamforming receiver with an emphasis on achieving unparalleled performance at extremely low power consumption. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of innovation, pushing the boundaries of the technology to create groundbreaking solutions that will shape the future of satellite-based safety systems for critical infrastructure. 

    As part of your role, you will:

    • Lead the design and development of RF mixed signal electronics for a state-of-the-art massive beamforming receiver.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams spanning multiple time zones, including mechanical, antenna, DSP and software engineers to define system requirements and architecture.
    • Drive architectural decisions and provide technical leadership to ensure the successful implementation of cutting-edge RF technologies.
    • Conduct thorough analysis, simulation, and characterization of RF circuits to optimize performance metrics such as power consumption, noise figure, linearity, dynamic range and thermal management.
    • Plan and execute qualification testing of the receiver.
    • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in RF technology and contribute innovative ideas to keep our solutions at the forefront of the industry.

    Qualifications / Experience:

    • PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with a focus on RF and mixed signal design is preferred.
    • Expertise in RF, mixed signal & analog IC designs is highly desirable, with specific experience in the following areas:
    • RF blocks used in receivers: LNAs, filters & VGA.
    • PLL & frequency synthesizers.
    • Analog to digital converters.
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex RF designs from concept to production.
    • Experience in low power and ultra-low voltage designs.
    • AMS or other mixed-signal verification methodologies.
    • Expertise in RF simulation tools and familiar with standard RF measurement equipment.
    • Data-driven and evidence-based work methodology.

    Strong candidates will also possess skills in one or more of the following areas:

    • Strong understanding of RF system architectures and beamforming techniques. 
    • Experience in direct sampling techniques with high-speed ADCs, and AMD/Xilinx RFSoC.
    • Effective interfacing with digital signal processing engineers and FPGA developers.
    • Confident with scripting languages and track record of effective automation of repetitive tasks.

    Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in office.
