You’ll be responsible for developing algorithms that can extract meaningful insights from large, imperfect datasets. Your work will turn raw data into actionable intelligence, driving the future of traffic technology.

Pioneer in greenfield innovation: As a key player in a greenfield project, you will leverage your creativity and problem-solving abilities to build and optimize new, innovative data processing models from the ground up. Your work will define the future of our traffic services.

Beyond development, you’ll support production environments, ensuring continuous improvements and the smooth operation of the services you help create.

What you’ll need

You hold a Bachelor’s, M.Sc., or PhD in Research, Computer Science, or a relevant field. Your academic background has prepared you to tackle the complex challenges you’ll face in this role.

Programming and cloud expertise: You possess advanced skills in Java and Python, and have a proven track record in building scalable data systems in public cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS). Your experience in developing production-grade code is matched by your ability to architect, implement, and maintain complex data processing systems.

Experience in data engineering within the traffic, mobility, or IoT domains, particularly with real-time and historical data from connected devices, will give you a strong edge in this role.

You enjoy working in an international team and are a true team player. You understand that the best results come from collaboration and are eager to contribute to a collective effort.

You have strong written and verbal communication abilities in English, enabling you to articulate complex technical concepts and collaborate effectively with team members.

This position is based in Berlin. Therefore, we can only accept candidates that already live in or are in the process of relocating to Berlin metropolitan area.

What’s nice to have

Experience with DevOps practices and cloud computing will give you an edge, especially if you’re familiar with platforms like Azure.

An interest in software architecture will help you contribute to the broader design and development efforts within the team.

Familiarity with traffic engineering topics and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools will be beneficial, particularly given the nature of the data and services you’ll be working on.
