Working Student - Data Engineer @Vaayu

Vaayu helps brands and retailers track and reduce their environmental footprint.

We're hiring a working student to support our Data Engineering team in data transformation, normalisation and analysis of our customers data.

About the role

🌎 Location: Remote in Germany
⏱ Working hours: Normal business hours but we are flexible and happy to discuss!

👏🏽 Team: You will be working in our multi-functional Data Engineering Team.

👵🏽 Experience: Ideally you are studying something related to Sustainability, Climate, Physics, Mathematics, or like researching things and getting into the numbers.

💰 Pay/Salary: This is a paid position, it is not an unpaid internship!

Tasks

You will be working closely with Mike (Technical Product Manager) and Luca (Co-founder and CTO). Your key responsibilities will include;

• Transforming structured and unstructured customer data into our standardised data formats.
• Contributing to the development of our transformation pipelines, as there are always ways to improve how we do things!
• Being knowledgeable about customer data, and helping other members of the team address data-related questions from our customers.

Requirements

You will be a great fit if;

• You have a passion for helping to address climate change.
• You are keen to learn new things every day. Previous experience is not required, but an appetite to learn is!
• You are not afraid to ask questions if you do not understand something. The team is here to make sure that everyone is comfortable with what they have been asked to do.
• You enjoy thinking about how to solve complex problems, and are not afraid to dive into the data to get the answers!

Hiring Process

The hiring process will consist of;

• Introductory Call - A 30 minute call to get to know you, and see if the role would be a good fit.
• Technical Interview - A 60 minute session with a data-related challenge, a chance to engage with another member of the team and ask questions.
