Your mission

As a Data Scientist at VR Smart Guide your mission is to develop and implement data science models to drive a data-driven business strategy. Your goals include improving the accuracy of credit risk predictions, creating data-driven solutions for revenue maximization, cost savings, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency, including the productization of models. You will collaborate with the data platform, product, business, and engineering teams to identify, acquire, and integrate various data sources to inform and refine your model development.

Your role and contribution

Independently develop and deploy new machine learning models.
Develop, refine, and implement machine learning models for creditworthiness prediction and recommendation engines.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the infrastructure supporting these models in collaboration with the Data Platform team.
Demonstrate continuous improvement in model accuracy through iterative development and fine-tuning.
Continuously monitor and enhance model performance based on business KPIs.
Improve model accuracy by retraining models and implementing feedback loops.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Platform, Product, Business, Engineering) to identify valuable data sources.
Lead the acquisition, integration, and cleaning of diverse data streams to support model development.
Clearly communicate complex data insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your profile

Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering or a similar field. Publishing of relevant articles is a plus
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist in financial services, fin-tech, banking, investments, insurance or a related field
Proficiency in Python
Strong empathy for small business owners and a user-centric approach to marketing
Comfortable operating in a quick and in-transition environment
Demonstration of resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges, able to pivot when necessary, and maintain focus on delivering value to customers
Able to make more with less, a mind for automation and simplification
Fluency in English
Willing to travel occasionally to Berlin and/or Eschborn
