Your mission

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping and enhancing our customer-facing applications. On one side, you’ll empower small- and medium-sized business owners to better understand their finances and access competitive financial products. On the other, you’ll help banks utilize customer data to offer the right financial products at the right time. Your main focus will be hands-on backend engineering, driving the robustness and scalability of these critical platforms.

Your role and contribution

Coding: Actively contribute to the codebase, developing features and solving complex technical challenges
Ensure Delivery: Process the entire software delivery process, from coding to deployment, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality
Collaboration: Connect closely with product managers and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals and collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment
Documentation: Ensure that all processes and code are thoroughly documented for future reference and knowledge sharing
Drive Collaboration: Actively participate in team discussions, code reviews, and brainstorming sessions to promote a culture of shared ownership and continuous improvement.

Your profile

Minimum 8 years of experience in software engineering
Strong expertise in backend development with Python
Proven ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance systems
Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, Redis (or similar), Kafka (or similar)
Strong skills building APIs
Microservices architecture; Event Based; CQRS; SOLID; Asyncronous System
Self-starter: Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
Collaborative: Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Adaptable: Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing speed and quality
Fluent in English
Willing to travel occasionally to Berlin and/or Eschborn
