Working Student AI (m/f/d)

Founded at Stanford University, Walaris develops autonomous AI-based solutions focused on enhancing situational awareness. Our AirScout software platform uses artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, and edge computing to detect threats in the air, on sea or on the ground. Our cutting-edge technology is utilized by commercial, government, and military users to increase situational awareness in and around sensitive locations.

For our office in Munich, we are looking for a Working Student AI (m/f/d) starting as soon as possible:

Responsibilities:

• Handling different sources of data and converting them into suitable format for training neural networks.
• Experimenting with state of the art neural networks and approaches, and creating performance-based comparison benchmarks.
• Working on and implementing Proof-of-Concepts using cutting edge machine learning and deep learning approaches such as GANs, Graph Neural Networks, Transformers, etc.
• Identifying opportunities to use machine learning to improve AI processes from data management to model training, testing and deployment.

Requirements

• Enrollment at a master’s program in computer science, mathematics, physics or a similar subject area
• Strong experience in designing, developing and testing deep neural networks for computer vision applications as well as data management and structuring
• A broad understanding of applicable best practices, tools (e.g. OpenCV, PyTorch), and methods (e.g. object detection and tracking, semantic segmentation, etc.)
• High-level proficiency in Python
• Problem solving mindset and systematic approach to conduct research, solve problems and willingness to work in a cross functional environment to tackle real world technical challenges
