The role is part of a progam of the "Underwriting Platform". The platform with its components is the main application to support pricing and policy administration (apart from accounting) for the client's Non-Life reinsurance business.
This role is part of a team focusing on modernising a Windows Forms application in order to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Your tasks
• The overall task is to technically lead the offshore development team, with colleagues from a third-party provider
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to the development team, ensuring adherence to industry best practices, clean code principles, and company coding standards.
• Legacy Modernization: Develop and implement a strategic plan to modernize our legacy Windows Forms application, leveraging C# and .NET technologies to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• API Design: Design, develop, and implement RESTful APIs to integrate with our legacy application, ensuring seamless data exchange and adherence to industry standards.
• Code Quality: Foster a culture of clean code, emphasizing simplicity, readability, and testability, and ensure that all developed solutions meet these standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and product management, to ensure that technical solutions meet business requirements and are aligned with company goals.

Must have competences
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in C# and .NET, with a strong focus on clean code principles, design patterns, and API design.
• Legacy System Knowledge: Experience with Windows Forms applications and a willingness to learn and adapt to our legacy system.
• API Development: Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience with API development using C# and .NET.
• Leadership: Proven experience in technical leadership, with the ability to guide and mentor team members.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

Nice to have competences
• Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as Azure or AWS, and experience with cloud-based API development.
• DevOps: Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Testing: Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and testing frameworks.

Further information
Sporadic on-site presence in Munich will be required. The majority of the work can be done from remote.
