    We are looking for a Senior Design Manager to join Wolt's Courier and Delivery Mission

    As the international side of Doordash business, Wolt is active in 30 countries outside of the US and growing.

    The Courier and Delivery Group represents the backbone of our company. Together with functional and cross-functional partners, you'll tackle highly impactful challenges to craft the most-loved platform in multi-device for gig workers, empower local businesses with our robust logistical system. Ultimately, your efforts will connect consumers to everything they desire.

    This role is perfect for someone who is excited about solving complex challenges that are socially impactful and can drive excellent craft through the team by defining not only the vision for the Courier and Delivery Group but by going deep into the work.

    📍This role can be based in our tech hub in Berlin or Helsinki.

    Your Impact

    The core skills of our design leaders are to coach, bridge and direct the function of design. This means, you are both a highly experienced manager who loves being connected to the work and zoom in as necessary to support teams to  success.

    • Set up the team for success:
      Lead the Courier Design Group, ensuring that the team is set up for success in a scaling environment

    • Lead the charge:
      Oversee the courier and delivery mission, empowering your team to thrive in a dynamic, creative environment.

    • Set the bar high:
      Establish and uphold exceptional design standards, ensuring every product we build delivers a delightful user experience.

    • Grow and nurture:
      Lead and build a high-performing team, both ICs and Managers,  by attracting and onboarding top talent, implementing efficient design management practices, and leveraging strategic frameworks. The team is growing and there will be room to shape it your way.

    • Bridge the gap:
      Foster seamless collaboration and project delivery within agile teams, guiding stakeholders through effective design rituals and reviews.

    • Empower your team:
      Mentor and coach team members, supporting their career aspirations and pushing them to reach their full potential. The team is well structured, oiled and self-sufficient.

    • Navigate with purpose:
      Translate user needs and business goals into innovative solutions that drive strategic success.

    Our humble expectations

    Who you are

    • You have at 5+ years of experience leading design teams at business-to-business product organizations that feature strong value propositions and high tech service integrations.

    • You possess exceptional design skills and have shipped numerous business or consumer products that prioritize user delight. This allows you to have thorough understanding of creative process and hands on design work, and while you may not spend that much time designing yourself, you still care about the design work deeply

    • You have experience leading, mentoring, and managing designers to help grow their skills in research, design, ideation, innovation and systematic thinking.

    • You effortlessly connect with cross-functional stakeholders, motivating them to execute vision even in your absence.

    • You have a user and data-focused design mentality. You leverage user feedback and data insights to refine your team's intuition,  understanding the value of both qualitative and quantitative methods.

    • You thrive in complex systems, balancing global needs with your product's specific goals.

    • You have experience in gaming - it´s a plus!
