For the further growth of our founder-led company, we are looking for you as Senior AI/ML Engineer – Speech (m/f/d) for our Software-as-a-Service platform in Berlin, Munich, Halle (Saale) or remote in Germany.

• Responsibility: You not only develop our existing AI features further and bring them to the next level but also identify and implement new use cases on our platform by leveraging the latest developments in the field.
• Curiosity: You are motivated to make sense of large amount of structured and unstructured data and are not afraid to go deep in understanding current processes to identify opportunities for new AI use cases.
• Coding: You are experienced in writing production-ready modern python code following best practices (e.g. type hints, linting, testing) to build stable and maintainable software.
• Team: You are a senior member of our AI team (1 x Lead AI Engineer, 5 x AI Engineers) and collaborate closely with our project managers, data analyst and frontend as well as backend engineers to bring new machine learning use cases onto our platform. On top of that you are a strong mentor for our junior engineers.
• Know-How: You bring technical expertise to the table and can contribute strongly to architectural discussions. In your work you set a strong focus on building efficient, maintainable, and scalable systems that can support our platform growth.

Your profile

• Analytical and Experienced: You hold a degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or a related field, and bring a very analytical mindset with several years of senior-level experience in developing AI solutions for audio data.
• Speech Recognition Expertise: You're well-versed in speech recognition fundamentals, familiar with common frameworks and toolkits, and ideally understand digital signal processing (DSP) to preprocess audio, extract features, and reduce noise.
• High Standards in Coding: You excel in organizing and documenting experiments, love shipping high-quality production code, and are proficient with git, including CI/CD pipelines, and Docker. Our tech stack includes Python 3.11, PyTorch 2.0, type hints, mlflow and Docker.
• User-Focused Thinker: You enjoy tackling complex systems from a user perspective and excel at communicating requirements and strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative and Mentoring Spirit: You relish mentoring junior colleagues, thrive in cross-disciplinary agile teams, and are enthusiastic about joining hackathons and tech-days, all while communicating proficiently in English and standing by your ideas confidently but flexibly.
• English language: This position requires at least english B2 level skills.
